Papermaps are a pop-rock band on a mission. In 2011 they toured behind their debut ‘Papermaps’ and played CMJ Music Marathon in New York City, and two showcases at Halifax Pop Explosion where they shared the bill with other notable Canadian acts: Dinosaur Bones, The Reason, Plants and Animals, Carmen Townsend and Stars.
TBD (London)
Yes TBD is the band name, it is NOT an acronym. Everyone knows APK Live’s owner MARC GAMMAL, but did you know he’s in a band. Come and see our resident playboy, badass, and heartthrob Marc along with his band mates in TBD, play their first show at the bar. Get here early, you don’t want to miss this.

Tuesday Happenings #3

Wow,

It’s getting closer to our release date!  Here’s what’s happening with PAPERMAPS this week:

Item 1: Shows Shows Shows!
Here are the posters/ FB Events for our Waterloo and St. Catharines appearances.

A new show has been added to our spring tour: Saturday April 30, APK Live, London.

Item 2: The  latest papermaps review was written by  excellent writer Barbara Bruederlin.  The review appeared both on her awesome blog, Bad Tempered Zombie as well as the very esteemed  No Depression website.  Although No Depression focuses on Traditional, Country, Roots and Blues-based music (which we have some elements of, but would not neatly fit into) the good people there, nevertheless, featured the review on their landing page for at least 24 hours (which was very, very cool of them).  This may be a historical first for usage of the  term shoegaze on No Depression. Read Barbara’s fine review here:

Item 3: The latest radio station to spin papermaps is  CFOU 89.1 MHz – Trois-Rivieres. Merci beaucoup!

Item 4: Last (but not least) the first official single from papermaps, our song entitled, reunion is available on itunes TODAY!  Here’s the proof: http://itunes.apple.com/us/album/reunion-single/id427843024
