Wendy Versus

Hey,

Wendy and I have another musical project (yes, you read that right).  The project is called Wendy Versus and as you can probably guess, Wendy writes and sings the songs  (and I play guitar and press record).  Anyway,  I’m blogging this here on PAPERMAPS DOT NET because we are currently streaming 2 new tracks from the forthcoming Wendy Versus album (entitled Crayon Wars).   Check it out on our other website, WENDY VERSUS DOT COM:

Thanks!

It’s Been a While

… since I’ve written anything here .  We are still hard at work on our next album (4 songs in). We’ve taken a break from actual recording so that we can jam some of the new material — work the kinks out.  We resume on Tuesday (or maybe Thursday). Lately, I’ve been hanging out at the tumblr blog — posting odds and ends, getting reacquainted. We are also working on securing some dates in March — more news on that front soon.

Talk Soon,

-dean

Papermaps in the Studio 2

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

Here are some pics from Session Day 2 at our HQ, Chemical Sound.  It was keyboards galore!  We stayed inside the control room where it’s warm.  Jay helped out with the engineering. Thanks to Wendy for most of these photos!  Apologies for the lack of exposure, we like the dark.

We did some group vocals after this and were too busy to snap pictures.  Session Day 3 was mostly guitars.   I didn’t snap any photos of my guitar setup, but it was very similar to my earlier accounts of that (see it here).  Session Day 4 was mostly my vocals.  We tend to work slowly on small batches of songs, usually 2 to 3 at a time, so these photos represent a small portion of our work.  We are happy to share them with you when we can!
